Museum and gallery resides in the object of former pilgrimage place, which history is connected with Cistercian monastery in Plasy. Its present form Mariánská Týnice gained in the first half of the 18th century. Church of Zvěstování Panny Marie (Church of Lady Day) with provostery and arcade were built according to Jan Blažej Santini`s project. The foundation-stone to the baroque building was placed by Plasy abbot Evžen Tyttl in 1711. Next abbots continued at the monumental construction and the building-up continued till 1777, when the new church was dedicated. The church stays on the groundplan of isisceles crucifix, in its middle there is a mighty dome ended by lantern, renewed in 2000. On the south side of the church there is an illusiopnal baroque altar. West from the church there is an arcade decorated by frescos from the painter F. J. Lux. Building of the provostery turned by its facade to the south has in its groundplan form of letter "T", meaning its promoter name - abbot Tyttl. The provostery towers (in them there are clock and bells) were renewed in 1993 and 1994. In the refectory there is preserved fresco, picturing monks while ceremonious repast with Virgin Mary and Angel and dotation of Mariánská Týnice by Roman from Týnec to the Cistercian friary in 1230.
