The original viewing tower at the highest point of the Chudenická highlands used to stand next to a tourist chalet and restaurant. In 1990-1992 it was replaced by a stand-alone steel structure of untraditional design with a viewing nacelle offering panoramic views including the nearby town of Kdyně and the Nový Herštejn and Rýzmberk castle ruins. Also seen on the horizon are the Svatobor hill near Sušice, the Šumava ranges with the peaks of Ostrý and Velký Javor, the Bohemian Forest with Čerchov and the Hoher Bogen mountain range in Germany with well-visible army communication towers.
